    Although it isn’t mandatory that you be present to purchase your property (you can assign a lawyer to handle it in your absence), it’s advisable that you visit the site physically so that you have confidence in your purchase. 

    Step 3: How Does a Lawyer Perform Due Diligence With the Land Registry in Greece?

    Your chosen lawyer will conduct a review of the title deeds of both the seller of the property and its previous owners, going back at least 20 years.

    Essentially, you can be a permanent resident or citizen of Greece without being a Greek tax resident.

    Being a tax resident makes you liable to pay certain taxes in Greece. 

    How Does Owning Greek Property Influence Worldwide Income Tax Obligations?

    If you’re a tax resident in Greece, Greece will tax you on all of your declared worldwide income (this includes cryptocurrency).
